V1 is live

A network for people who live and work internationally.

NomadNexus is a self-hosted community and knowledge platform for digital nomads — the people figuring out visas, timezones, banking, and where to actually sit and work from. It runs on infrastructure its members control, not on an ad-funded platform that sells their data.

What works today

We are shipping this in stages, and this page tells you exactly which stage. Everything below is built, deployed, and running right now.

Your account, your data

Registration and sign-in with hashed passwords (Argon2id) and signed session tokens. Notes are private to your account by default — other members cannot read them, and administrators see access in the audit log, not the content.

Nomad Notes

Write and keep private notes tagged by country. Filter your notes by any country you have visited. This is the first working feature of the platform, and it is live now.

Community chat

Our community chat, NoMadMost, runs alongside the app. Members discuss travel logistics, remote work, and tooling in topic channels. Your account here and your chat account are linked.

Search groundwork

Notes are indexed for retrieval in the background. The indexing layer that powers search is working today; the larger reviewed knowledge vault it will feed is still being built.

What we are building

The vision is a permissioned knowledge base and a trusted network — the part that makes this worth more than a group chat. That work is underway but not finished. Here is the honest state of it, so you can decide whether the finished thing is worth waiting for.

None of the following is available yet. These features are in development and are described so you know where the platform is going — not so you expect them today.

Mentorship from real experts

Post a challenge, choose AI-first, human-first, or hybrid help, and get matched with people who have actually done the thing. Expert contributions are labelled as expert opinion — never passed off as verified fact.

In development

A reviewed knowledge vault

Community conversations and expert answers become a growing reference library. Nothing is published automatically: every entry is read and approved by a human reviewer, and keeps a record of where it came from.

In development

Find collaborators, not gigs

Publish what you can help with and search the network for people whose skills and availability match. Contact details stay private until both people agree to share them. No bidding, no invoicing, no project management.

Planned

Trust earned from evidence

An optional, evidence-based credibility score so you can tell a real track record from an empty profile. We will never tell you a score proves someone is genuine — it only reflects which checks have been passed, and when.

Planned

How we handle your trust

These are constraints we have committed to, not features on a roadmap. They shape what we are allowed to build.

We don't give tax or legal advice

A note-taking and community tool that isn't qualified to tell you what to do about your taxes or your visa. Where a question needs a professional, we'll say so plainly and point you to one.

People, not personas

Every member is a human being who signed up. AI tools assist members behind the scenes; they never appear in the community pretending to be a person.

Your data stays yours

This platform is self-hosted. There is no advertising, no data resale, and no third party quietly reading your notes. If you run it yourself, there isn't even an operator between you and the database.

Getting started? Create an account, then say hello in the community chat — that is where most of the day-to-day conversation happens.
